I dont believe I was in the right state of mind upon seeing this film. Did I see the first film? Yes. Did is stress me out? Yes. Did it scare the crap out of me with the UNPREDICTABLE jump scares? Yes. And I LOVEDDD it! I watch it multiple times a year. With that being said for the second installment, I expected to be anxious, stressed and jumping out of my seat....and yes all that occurred. But the anxiety and tension were caused by a different reason altogether; it was the excessive the gore. I was not expecting the heightened levels of gore. For movies like Saw and Terrifier, I know what I'm going for, so the gore does not bother me. Maybe I was too physically tired to be receptive to the increased gore. I seem to be the only person that's bothered by it. I will definitely give it another watch when I am in a better state of mind. Im starting to feel as crazy as the main character because I seem to be in the minority. Maybe I missed something, as I felt the same way about M3gan and Talk To Me...and those movies received HIGH praises from the general public. :-)

So this story is the storyline from his farewell play he did back in 2019. So I already knew the story. Yes, the storyline is highly umm..... unbelieveable. Its also kind of confusing. NEXT LINE IS A SPOILER: Its confusing due to it not being clear if Davi and Tim are best friends and Tim is the gay one and Davi is straight. Or if they were in a relationship with eachother. The movie hints at them being life partners, but then later, they make it seem like Davi is straight and he was just super supportive of Tim. So its not clear if the two are BFFs or BF/BF lol. This whole thing wouldnt matter but theres a twist at the end that makes the nature of Davi and Tim's relationship important. HOWEVER, this movie was so funny! The movie is just as funny as the play (his plays are always better than his movies). Tyler has come out with some off-the-wall/left-field, just all around terrible movies over the last 5 yrs. But this movie had me rolling and I was very entertained. Madea, Mr. Brown, and Agnes are the best characters.

I have a love hate relationship with this show. I love it because it properly showcases the talents of four beautiful women of color. Brandy blew my socks off with this show with her rap skills. I knew she could rap but sheesh. The storylines are also engaging enough to keep you coming back for more. HOWEVER, the pacing of this show is too fast for me. The women experience sooo much in just ONE episode. Its like, one thing happens, then another, then another...as if going through as much trauma as they go through happens just to check boxes. I hate when shows act as if serious situations are just sitcom material or doesnt properly capture how deep a situation really is. Also, its an ABC show, so the serious stuff feels cheesy, like CRINGE cheesy at times. I feel this show would have been better suited for a network for more mature audiences. So its a good show, but too much is happening at once and the cheesiness throws me off at times.

What did I just watch? I mean, no, really? I was very uncomfortable and not because of the "gore" and sex. This movie had a different cringey feel to it, and not in a good way. Ill let you decide.

Had a family member warn me about the actual premise of the movie. No, you will not see Ma's performaces and no it is not a movie about Ma's rise and journey to becoming The Mother of Blues. This movie literally takes place in a recording studio while the characters bicker with eachother about who is going to play what song, who gets to sing what part and who gets paid how much. That. Is. Literally. The. Entire. Movie. However, since I knew before-hand what this movie comprised of, I was still able to not take it so seriously and enjoy it for what it was. I had a decent time watching it still.

At first, the storylines were decent. Then around the 10th episode, things started to drag on and become very repetitive. The whole Bill and Regina storyline was so dumb and unrealistic. What made it worse was the scenes would drag on for 15 min, with the actors saying the same lines over and over and over again. BET/Tyler Perry presents this as a comedy. Yeaaah it has its comedic moments but honestly this show is more of a drama. This show has ALOT of heavy and serious overtones. The playful theme song does not match the severity of the trials and tribulations the men go through. And when the show is actually trying to have funny moments, sometimes it doesn't blend well. Also, sometimes the interactions between the men seem a little fake and non-genuine. The only one who seems to really care is Tom.

I. Wasnt. Ready. Im not even a fan of the GOTG franchise. The storylines, characters, and the plot points never did anything for me. I scoffed when watching the previews initially from ahem...past dissapointments over the last few years. The only reason I gave this movie a chance is due to my favorite critics (DoubleToasted) giving this a 5/5. And wow, they werent lying. Ive never had a movie get me emotionally invested in characters I never cared about. I was teary eyed through the entire movie. This movie hurt me more than the final scenes of Infinity War and Endgame. Even the tribute in Wakanda Forever didnt affect me this much. Great movie. P.s, if you are an animal lover, this will hurt you. I hugged my cat as soon as I got home :-)
