Giving it an extra star because the actor's admittedly did a good job, directing wasn't bad. It was engaging, I wasn't bored, but mainly because of the visual effects. Many unresolved plot points and some parts were flat, mainly because the genre doesn't fit the premise. The HORRIBLE part, is it fails to be a good non-creepy romance, and fails to be sci-fi enough to be sci-fi. The premise in itself is stockholm syndrome and very "if i was the last man on earth would you date me", like her options are be alone until she dies, or be with him, which ultimately undercuts the "romance" in the movie. Very "this man only gets away with being abusive and creepy because he's attractive". Not only that, she didn't wake up by accident he DECIDED to force this woman into this situation. If this had been directed as a different genre, we could have maybe gotten something more compelling with a more dynamic plotline. That man (the character not the actor) is undoubtedly a psycho with no empathy, and the moral of the lesson is not about human connection, its about the choices you make and the consequences they have, and how fickle human nature is.
