Wouldn’t have paid to see this in theatres, it was painfully long and the plot was barely noticeable and seemingly just thrown together. Needless to say the “irishman” wasn’t even close to an Irishman from Philly. Joe Pesci singlehandedly carries the movie through, a great display of his talent. Although the dialogue is rough and inconsistent Pesci still carries his character with grace. The whole movie is a poor homage to “Goodfellas,” and was a complete disappointment. I can’t explain the uselessness of Ana Paquin’s character, although she plays the part wonderfully considering she has no lines. I was completely disappointed and the majority of the movie was white noise.
