Even for free, this is far too buggy. On an overkill GPU and soso CPU, the game forgets to render the fu*king track. THE TRACK. This is on top on so many things that render at the last second, like guard rails rofl. So you drive on nothing. Corkscrew area in Laguna Seca consistently fails to render for example. Starting to think the reason the Nordschleife isnt included is genuinely because they were worried it wouldnt run for people due to its size.
Is the game beautiful? meh doesnt matter because the game is so poorly optimised youre forced to run reaally low resolution for it to semi run alright. But looking at gigabuilds who manage to run the game, and its still not super impressive like a Gran Turismo for example.
At start of the race audio bugs out, probably because its got so many cars it needs to output the sound off .
The nail in the coffin is the career mode (what I had high hopes for), turning out to be a boring on rails affair, choose between these 5 cars to compete for a cup then never use the car again. No huge surprise there, even GT7s career mode was abysmal, but at least it had used cars and some degree of freedom to approach. I saw the writing on the wall and uninstalled within a day, Im just too busy to sink hours onto an unsatisfying game. Driving is semi satisfying but doesnt feel crisp like in say GT, cars are a little too understeery, enough to annoy.
Developers these days seem just so lazy, or overworked on insane deadlines. Charging full price for an alpha release should be illegal, I feel bad for people who did. I got it through game pass and I still felt ripped off lol At first it was hilarious how badly optimised it was, then it just got sad.
The game needs at least a years worth of updates to work correctly, then it would be an alright entry, still with a boring career mode.
As of right now, just buy Assetto Corsa if youre on PC..
