The series is well written and produced with excellent acting. I watched it in English with English subtitles. The subtitles matched the dubbed words. The constant gritty sets coupled with the dynamics of the volcano's constant after drifting ash just made me cringe throughout the entire series. The plot gradually unwound and up until the final episode of series 1 still left episodes to come with equally challenging stories to follow. The concept that a meteor could have consciousness and power that could right the wrongs, fill the emptiness, or simply suggest better lifestyle changes in the original characters was compelling.
