Baptised in the blood of millions is an awe inspiring novel in the lord horror world of the mind of David Britton one of Britain's most underrated fantasy writers for me and Clive Barker are two most original authors in their perspective genres with imaginations that defy beyond brilliance baptised is pure horror fantasy with that unique twist that David Britton can only give since re engaging with lord horror in reverbstorm my aim is to build up my Savoy books collection they may seem of their time to a younger generation but me personally you don't get writers in the style of David Britton Clive Barker Ramsey Campbell Michael Moorcock and Alan Moore anymore their imaginations and works are both one of visual and imaginary sorry guys in the USA when it comes this kind of stuff Britain still rules the waves an excellent addition to my collection and hope to delve further into this world which has reinvigorated my whole intellectual interest in many other things can't recommend this highly enough

A big big big fan of the art of John Coulthard and would say he is my favourite artist in the comic book form today his art tackling the Lovecraft mythos is without doubt the best I've ever seen and he perfectly captures the sense of dredd that seems to crawl of the page just like one of Lovecraft's tentacled creations all captured in beautiful black pen and ink the man is a genius and having read numerous Lovecraft comics none of the artwork has come remotely to expressing the genre so much as with so many of his work there is too much to take in from just one glance his vision in the lord horror comics capture Lovecraft and I would say both books would perfectly sit side by side simply astonishing plus you get the added bonus of Alan Moore in the foreword a modern day masterpiece in age of one dimensional comics and constant superhero dross

Still the best film of the entire apes (hate the terms franchise) and will go down in movie history though I like all the original apes films and rise but the rest I felt was going further and further from it's origins in rise they did mention that contact had been lost with George Taylor's ship which none of the others have eluded to what I like most about the original film is the satire which I feel has been lost in the later films and Dr zaius has to be one of the best screen villains ever with only one aim to keep the order of the world they had created the apes make up still holds up to this day overall a classic

Well what can I say waited awhile to see this recently on blu ray as I was unable to get the cinema due to illness and was a little wary about the hype that followed it yet I must say it lived up to all my doubts for me personally the supernatural elements didn't work as well and would have preferred it to maybe have been a straightforward crime movie but I didn't direct it so end of story but it does create a creepy mood and edge not seen in a lot of horror films performances are great and while Nicolas cage gets all the attention for his brilliant performance especially the bit where he calls maika Monroe as a child nearly birthday girl just had me releashing his party's dale kobble and enjoying it 100% a character up there with the likes of John doe and James gumb as screen serial killers but the stand out is Alicia Witt her performance deserves an Oscar nod along with cage as supporting actor and actress but as fans of the genre it's unlikely because it's a horror film what I also liked was the dark sense of humour too if just worked for me never seen any of Osgood Perkins other films and may have to take a look but yes longlegs in my opinion lived up to the hype and played around in my head for the rest of the day the last film to do that was Robert eggars the witch and vastly underrated censor and made up for MY overall disappointment of terrifier sorry guys

What can I really say about the original terrified film I like stalk and slash films having grown up with them during their 80s heyday but as you get older I think these films wear off it's not a bad film neither is a great one it just does as it says on the tin the level of gore and violence didn't shock or offend me in the slightest and yes portrayal of art the clown certainly puts him in Freddy Krueger Jason and Michael Myers league with a great silent performance which reminds me a little bit of lon Chaney sr in his clown roles and for a no budget film it's fine for me just nothing out of the ordinary maybe I've gotten a little too old for slasher films and want something more that makes me think sorry terrified die hards

A fun but really silly monster mash between the heavy weights of monster movies can watch these films all day from the showra era even the goofiest of them all son of Godzilla if you ever see the full Japanese version and not the universal cut the actual film is a lot darker but overall would rather watch these than the terrible American Godzilla movies which bring nothing original to the franchise other than being a cash cow great entertainment and fun

Let me say straight off this is a work for intelligent adults and not your typical superhero saving the the world schlock this is a harsh look at the atrocities committed by nazi psychopaths at the lord horror character ranks among the elite in fact the first 30 pages or so just contain images of a Nazi death camp the page showing true horror not fiction there are dialogue panels with no dialogue which you have to fill in using your own imagination and does it hit you as does the the comprehension of the whole aspect of the Nazis final solution but this also contains some of the most brilliant pieces of comic art I have ever seen a depraved trip into the mind of lord horror which lends more to science fiction and fantasy than horror with bizarre creations straight out the world of HP Lovecraft a fusion of lord haw-haw meets a turbo charged jack the ripper who will slaughter at will for some maligned greater cause since revisiting reverbstorm I can say it's power has effected me more than when it became a sensationalist comic of the 90s with Savoy books been constantly raided and authors sent to prison for obscenity but living in the UK around the the video nasties storm and the strict censorship we faced when it was available to other countries seems bizarre now and proof that most forms of art will always surpass any government of the day perhaps the closest comparison I can make with reverbstorm is the early stuff Clive Barker the only difference being that you didn't have to go to hell to see the chaos it happened right here on earth highly recommend this if you are able to get a copy or even pay the price for it just stunned a masterpiece

Not for everyone and I find it uncomfortable at times but just go along for this Lucio fulchi rollercoaster ride a cross between a slasher/giallo movie and yes it's ultra violet and very questionable of its depiction of women but go and take it for it is living in the UK this was a banned film and still has minor cuts but as the bfi pointed out time has moved on and remember what you see is make believe not real I now rate this as one of fulchis last great film but if you don't like this stuff stay away jack hedley is the star as a detective who seems bored and seen it all and you must laugh at the thought of a serial killer who speaks with a Donald duck voice must show a slice of rye fulchi humour as if to say this is just a movie
