Truly EPIC! Can’t say enough about the incredible devotion and skills that Joaquin Phoenix has to his character. The battle scenes are amazing in scale and detail, yet the intimate and personal moments are just as moving and often Napoleon’s unexpected humor shows up. The scene of his Coronation is spot on, in accordance with period paintings of the event. I was initially dreading a 3 hour movie, but it went by quickly because it was moving and compelling and most likely educated younger viewers of that period of history.
