I really am disappointed in how much they changed this adaptation from the book. I loved the book and was excited to see they were bringing it to the screen. Now, after watching the first 2 episodes just to give it a chance, I really wanted to like it - but it is just so different, it loses all the magic of why it was so meaningful in the first place. This story (the book) belonged to Elizabeth Zott and her struggles to be recognized. The writers for the tv show, for whatever reason, decided to diminish that story by completely changing major parts of plot and characters (for whatever their reasons). This is just my own humble opinion and I respect anyone who feels differently - especially for anyone who has not read the book. Thank you Bonnie Garmus for a wonderful read - I wish it wouldn’t have changed so much when brought to Apple TV+.
