After slogging through Demon Copperhead and Lincoln Highway (which were both very good but not always easy to read) it was a joy to read Starter Dog. I have owned several dogs and I identified with so much of what I read in this book. It is truly an excellent “dogoir” as well as a memoir to keep and reread.
