I do not understand at any point how so many reviews are positive?! The series has amazing actors, cinematography and sets BUT the protagonist (the pope) is INSUFFERABLE. I simply cannot watch the series when he is insulting everyone and everything at every point possible. I don't experience the writing as ingenious. I do not see an intelligent criticism of the Vatican or the papacy. 1/5 stars.
I would be interested in comments on my review. Maybe I don't see the bigger picture here.
