I really wanted to like this series. I like Matthew and Amber and it seemed like a big budget action/conspiracy project. But the things the director has these great actors do, and the storyline they developed, are simply dumb and unrealistic. The viewer needs to feel that the little things that we're all familiar with in life are also consistent in the film to make it flow and work. In our brains. You can't just have cops, during a global crisis, show up at a random pharmacy break-in within minutes of the alarm going off. Or those same cops entering the pharmacy and just beating up someone without any police announcement, a small detail but something we all know and expect. Or the 'mastermind' sitting in the middle of a big, expansive room, with no wires going to the antique telephone. It looks like a stupid and almost cliche imitation of an old Bond movie, which we've all tired of long ago and should remain in the Bond genre of old. Then there's the highly trained gunman walking cautiously though the control room, looking behind every obstacle for Matthew, only to avoid the one obvious place someone hiding would be. There are too many of these little failures of imagination to list which add up to make us get a small headache from all the eye-rolling. So disappointed. So much effort and admirable storyline that simply made the viewer feel like the director is treating us like unintelligent children who won't "notice" the laziness. 2/10. Sorry.
