As soon as I knew the late August publication date for The Ink Black Heart I knew how I would be spending my September Audible credit! I was so excited to once more hear Robert Glenister voice the characters of Robin and Strike - and I especially love his portrayal of Pat! It was just like meeting up with an old friend. But I soon became very disappointed. In building this novel around the technology, devices and social media outlets available in 2015 Galbraith has immediately excluded some current readers who are not virtual game or social media savvy and maybe future readers who will find it very dated. Like other listeners the online chats and tweets were impenetrable and really hard to follow on Audible. I have to admit to dozing through some of the virtual dialogue! But having said all that there was enough action outside the virtual action to keep me absolutely absorbed and Galbraith’s development of Robin and Strike is superb.I really feel as though they are real and I love spending time in their company as I am sure Galbraith does. I can’t wait for #7 in the series!
