The writing style is quite good, in my opinion, though it's definitely that older, hyper-descriptive style. The characters are fairly average. I wouldn't say they're good or bad. I'd say the plot is also fairly average. It's not unsatisfying, which is good, it's just got the plotting typical of books from its time period. It's got a very slow, drawn-out rising action with a ten-second climax and an abrupt end. I think it's worth a read, though. The overall theme is good.
