I first want to say that it wasn’t all bad, but the title is deceiving as very little of this book deals with the collecting of thread and making maps. Also, I’m not sure how much of this story is based on historical fact and how much is pure fiction. The letters from Lily to Jacob were the avenue for imparting most of 5he history but the sappyness of the language was hard to get past. The story is drawn out and slow to unravel.
