Required Reading! The Rainy Year by Harold Fenske is a beautifully written booked based upon his many experiences in life and is done in a fictional setting of that day. It incorporates actual facts with fiction as he writes his short stories about life! I read the book from a different perspective than most people because I am his cousin, one year younger, and a good friend through out the time period written about life in Northern Minnesota. I have had the great privilege of being able to read all of his short stories and essays. One of the things I like about Harold’s writings is his ability to, as you are reading, make you feel like you are right there in the scenario he is writing about. His excellent writing and appropriate visual pictures make you not want to put The Rainy Year book down. This should be a required reading for everyone! Steve Lauderbaugh
