While not typical of Avenged Sevenfold, this album is the definition of evolution. It is a complex nosedive into what feels like another world, where all the laws of physics we know are nonexistent. All of it is an adventure, best listened to from start to finish, rather than on shuffle or thrown bit by bit into a Playlist. It's comparable to reading a novel, or watching a movie. The lyrical content challenges what we'd expect, or even like for that matter, and creates almost a whole separate genre specific to this album. I can't recommend this highly enough. Some their best work.
