Its the same old Gameplay from previous Pokemon Titles. The Pokemon in this game are unoriginal and uninspired except a mere few. The Wild Area leaves much to be desired in the graphics department one example the trees that came straight from an N64. The wild Area is a Solid idea and the highlight of this new game its open world feels massive when you first enter but slowly this magic fades away when your thrown back onto linear routes, that are extremely reminiscent of the Gameboy games in design. The Development team claimed to add new animations but this was a blatant lie the reused animation goes from how the Pokemon move to even your rival using the same animations as the previous rival from Sun and Moon. The new region Galar just isn't that impressive the wild area takes up not even half of the region which is bigger than Alola but has less character than that region. The new Dynamax feature feels like a lazy replacement to mega evolution which would require more effort something Pokemon Sword and Shield lack a lot of. It feels like we have gotten to the point where Game Freak no longer cares about the quality of their games and they can release a sloppy unfinished empty game and sell over 6 million copies in a week. Pokemon Sword and Shield DLC was revealed a whopping 2 months later confirming that Game freak was locking our favourite Pokemon behind a pay wall, This DLC also include a lot of new content that should have been in the final game especially since it greatly lacks content and creativity. All of its downfalls cant compare to the fact Game Freak lied to its fanbase, they said they were removing 100 upon 100s of Pokemon to make new animations but this is completely false as the animation are the same as the 3DS games.
All in All I started with lots of hope for this new Pokemon game but was left with a sloppy, boring, short,"Adventure" that feels like a Gameboy game on a Home Console.
