While this book had potential with the very interesting tale of a tattooist and what he endured at Auschwitz, the lack lustre prose and the inability to create three dimensional people with depth, sadly meant that the story really does not live up to its full potential. It’s a true shame, as it is a very unique perspective and I can’t help but feel another author, like Kristin Hannah, could have been given this tale and taken it to the emotional heights that it deserves. If you are an avid reader who enjoys excellent prose, I think you will struggle with this.
