I’m a huge LotR fan, and I never really paid much mind to this series ever since I heard about it years ago. But when it finally came out I was like yeah well I have to watch that. I’m so impressed with it all. Leaves me asking questions. The humour between the dwarves and elves is captured great. The set designs are amazing, especially all the Elvish places, just so damn beautiful lol. Seeing locations from LotR in a new light is so frickin cool. Like places in their prime vs what they became thousands of years later. Some of the elves are more elf looking, definitely a different look from the 6 movies but I’m not complaining. The music is good, considering the classic score from the original movies that is unbeatable.
I can’t believe people are saying it’s slow. No spoilers but there’s already been a couple scenes where I’m on my toes. And like come on it’s the first 2 bloody episodes lmao. It’s setting up the ride we’re gonna be on for probably years to come.
There’s probably elitists who wanted to give it 1 star when they first heard Amazon was making a lord of the rings series, but you really have to take it for what it is. It’s a dope series so far that you can tell is trying to stay close to the source material. Which is fun because it’s not like there’s an entire book about it detailing everything. So they can be more creative and have fun with what’s going on during the events that were written by Tolkien. From just watching the first 2 episodes things are looking good for this series.
I’m really really really looking forward to the rest of the show and am so glad it turned out to be a production that the people working on it actually care about.
