I always loved the Hip and now we all understand the band spoke for most Canadians that never knew that we mattered.
I respected them being happy to be Canadian, and never SOLD OUT to play at Tower records!!!! That took balls and passion for what they believed in. I WAS A SAM'S CUSTOMER TOO!!
I don't think Trudeau was necessary, simply because he is a sell out, and has no idea what it takes to be creative and to be true to your roots ,besides who really cares what he has to say I have had enough of his crap !!!! And the betrayal and lies that he has created will be his legacy.
They lived and cried together and you feel it in this documentary.
Bob Rock, was a big mistake because he tried to replace the lifelong membership that these five friends had. Well live and learn.
The band could have divorced at that point and almost did ,but they respected each other enough to understand shit happens ,and when it does stick with it and if its REAL ,which it was they would pull through it.
I see like in any relationship a lot of give and take but EGO's never grew to the point where they split. Separated yes ,but reconciled in the end to perform their final tour with a dying man, singer ,front man, but most of all to respect a dying mans last wish.
Great documentary, great people and above all CANADIAN EH!!!
A MUST WATCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
