I wanted to like "Barbie." I really did. But I didn't. My advice to you? Wait for it to appear on a streaming service. More advice for parents and grandparents of young girls? This is not the movie for them. I repeat: this is NOT the movie for little girls. They will NOT understand it. And two-thirds through the film, they'll be bored and fidgety. Additional thoughts: the surface of the movie is beautiful and stunning and it's a visual feast. But the writing/script/story et al. doesn't hold up due to a lack of focus. Gerwig and Baumbach's script needed a better editor.
