First Hoover book and Verity was recommended by a friend. Agree with all of the negative comments about character development, sex scenes etc. It was a disappointing Myrtle Beach read for me. So many other intriguing books to read. Will not be pursuing the other Hoover books. I prefer something more complex such as written by Kristen Hanna, Jody Piccoult, Amor Towles and so many more. Writing a book is a talent and I don’t like to criticize anyone’s talent. Perhaps this book is just not my cup of tea.
