Everyone should read Oscar Wilde, specially 'The picture of Dorian Gray'. I have done it more than 20 times. This story defies natural laws. Does it really? On probabilistic perception, no, it does not. The 'model' Dorian ages but the physical effects are not apparent, instead the portrait of 'Dorian' produces folds and wrinkles with passage of time and all symptoms of ageing become conspicuous. This is horrible.. but the elements of horror do not belong to real life. This is a sort of artistic horror which is beautiful and harmless and passive. The events produce curiosity, enjoyment and a sense of satisfaction. Oscar Wilde's creation is matchless.
