Lost Highway is on my top 10 films of all time. Multiple viewings reveal layers within time, space and presence in true Lynch fashion. The soundtrack is superb and composed perfectly to relive the film. With the exception of Song to the Siren by this Mortal Coil, sadly missed. Not widely distributed for access or streaming and came very late to DVD in general due to the core context of the story being the aftermath of the making of a snuff film. Lost highway is the essence of film noir along with the abstract artful eye of David Lynch it surpasses all. An interview with him on the origins of the film is exceptional and an honest insight into the birth and process of story telling and film making. He tells of an occurrence with an unknown person ringing his doorbell. It spawned the idea of the film and he searched for months and months for the perfect house to depict his vision. This film is picture perfect to him as a director and I couldn't be more thankful for his impassioned work.
