This was one of the most insightful, informative, and truthful depictions of being Black and Brown in America's injustice system, because it revealed the truth that we are never given the right to have the same levels of proof to announce or habitually pronounce our guilt! I will forever be indebted to the Director, the beautiful and brilliant, Ms. Ava DuVernay, because she allowed the world to see how little it takes for Black and Brown skinned people to be setup for life in America, and the stronger determination by scandalous people never to admit their wrong, or act like a human being, if just for a second, and say "I'm sorry" or "I apologize", instead of lying through their teeth just to keep the lie going...! The truly scandalous truths include the then prosecutor and the current president showing themselves to be abominably despicable;but our honor is always undervalued to the point of people actually expecting us to prove we are worthy of their trust--as we are expected to simply trust them at face value--when we don't know them either!
