Book Review đź“ť
** Spoiler alert
The witty, crude, hysterical, and quite literal Elizabeth Zott finds herself in a few pickles throughout the book that is set in the 50s and 60s.
After the love her of life passes away suddenly, she finds herself alone, unwed, pregnant, and now jobless in the 50’s- tisk tisk! Elizabeth, how did you find yourself in a such a predicament??
A few years after her daughter is born, Elizabeth is offered to host a cooking show and although it’s a success she can’t find the happiness within to stay. Feeling the need to show her child to do what you love, and love what you do is a motto she’s clearly not living, so why isn’t she taking the advice she’s given to women through the airwaves? The strong, fierce feminist chemist is one woman to reckon with.
I listened to the book on #audible in two sittings (less than 48 hours), as the actress, Miranda Raison, who portrayed Elizabeth Zott brought the character to life, keeping me thoroughly entertained.
I am very excited to watch the film adaptation with Brie Larson as well!
Never boring and immensely entertaining, I urge you to grab his refreshing retro read asap.
