I’m halfway through the movie and I find it super funny and the script is intelligently written but..
In what world do Muslim parents allow their son/daughter to have that much freedom? Sleeping with their bf before marriage, etc. Even the mom isn’t veiled. I get that they live in an open American society but It’s confusing to me that they portrayed the family as Muslim and completely left out the entire concept of Islam.
The writers made it seems like her dad cares so much about the religion and traditions but look at any Muslim religious man and his family and it would a completely different picture. Idk wether this is intentional or not.
Other than that, I like the movie, I love the cast and I’m gonna go finish it right now :)
