Reading this novel by paulo coelho I realized that at some point in our childhood we all had a friend or what they call a "childhood sweetheart" with whom we share a pool of sweet yet pure memories and experiences but reaching our teenage things change and that bond is lost somewhere in this vast universe, however ,for pillar things were different; for her it was a magical gift from the universe itself. Communicating through those letters she received time to time from her childhood sweetheart she never knew that a girl like her, who expected nothing from men , would end up journeying through the French Pyrenees with him.To her sheer disbelief she discovers that he is a man of miracles and for the sake of her love for him she begins to develop the love for God and the feminine face of God(the goddess).With the passage of time as he struggles to choose between the romantic love and the love for all mankind this story takes a heart wrenching yet an unpredictable turn and its end will definitely leave you awe struck. Would pillar also end up leaving her first love with someone else alike the lady who believes that love returns in the form of another man?
