Maybe it's because I listened to the book first but so much was lost in this movie adaptation. It was ok but the characters and story felt so shallow compared to the book. All of the actors gave a great performance, but the lack of depth to the characters and story was definitely the fault of screenwriters. Unfortunate, I was hoping for so much more from such a wonderfully moving and powerful book.
