A complete waste of 2 hours- thankfully I got a discount on my tickets. I can’t possibly understand anyone who rated this more than 3 stars; maybe I watched the movie in an alternate reality, or some people suck at knowing what an actual good movie is. The movie, for one, was dragged. The first 10 mins was fine! But then… it got more, and more boring. A whole hour went by, without anything exciting happening. I kept checking the time to see how far along the movie was, because it was still boring after an hour and 30 mins passed! And then- it just ended. The feeling of disappointment, and disbelief I had when the credits popped up… I just wish I got money back.
Two, the chimpanzee story was so random and oddly placed. They literally never mentioned the monkey again. There was absolutely no meaning, or purpose for Steven’s character (love him as an actor though). Keke Palmer was good in this, but it sometimes felt a bit forced, and her character was a little dramatic- got annoying after awhile. The guy with the blonde highlights was okay ( someone cute to look at I guess). The guy from get out (I forget his name) was probably the best actor, and made the movie a one star, instead of a 0 star.
And the alien thing looked like a blowup jellyfish- what the heck was that supposed to be? Why was it there? Where did it come from? Why was the random chimp attack in the movie?
I’m very disappointed in Jordan Peele. 68 million dollar budget and STILL was nowhere as great as Get Out (which had a 4 million dollar budget). Something tells me this was a cash grab for Jordan and whoever else produced and directed this. You can’t go from making Get Out- to this…
