Not one for those who like a happy ending. Brilliantly acted by Eleanor Worthington Cox and Maxine Peake.
There were a number of matters which rankled for me.
The "chapel" was obviously an Anglican church, they might have got away with it if they had not had the bell tolling at the end of the service, although an external shot was also a give away.
The few words of Welsh which we heard spoken were South Wales dialect - "go now" would be "Ewch rwan" in North Wales not "Cerwch nawr" as we heard.
I could not understand why the character played by Richard Harrington went to the "chapel" to pray before setting off to the farm to do the quarry owner's dastardly business.
I found the character of the doctor a bit unbelievable as well, although I suppose that he was dependent on the quarry owner for his living so doing as he was commanded took priority over his training.
