Eddie the eagle is a movie about resilience and bravery. Throughout the movie, Eddie doesn’t stop fighting until he achieves his dream of competing in the Olympics. Eddie is a great character with amazing self-belief and courage even though he was told he couldn’t make it many times.
I think Eddie the eagle was a great movie. Throughout the movie, you can see Eddie striving to achieve his dreams. In the movie many people try to bring Eddie down, for example, Eddie’s father, Terry Edwards, made it clear that he wanted Eddie to become a plaster man like himself, Terry didn’t like putting up with eddies nonsense about competing in the Olympics.
In the movie, you can see Eddie persevering to get to the Olympics. His teammates tried to bring him down by getting him drunk and dumping him in the laundry room, where he then missed the parade at the start. Even though his teammates did this to Eddie to make him feel bad, it just made Eddie want to prove everybody wrong more than he already did.
Once Eddie finally made it to the Olympics after months of trial and error, people still tried to bring him down, his teammates, his dad, the other competitors, they all made Eddie feel bad about what he had achieved. As Eddie was about to go down the 90m slope all the voices of the people who had discouraged him came back into his head. This made Eddie standstill. But eventually, Eddie pushed those voices to the side and went down the slope.
After Eddie came home from the Olympics people praised him. Even his father, Terry, was waiting at the airport for him. In the end, all of Eddie’s efforts and perseverance were worth it. Eddie hadn’t stopped fighting for his dreams and had finally accomplished them.
