This book is abit like your favour sex toy running out of batteries mid use... At first it was brilliant, hitting all the right places, I couldn't put it down.. but that ending.. that complete anticlimactic disappointment and unnecessary twist.. at that point the batteries went dead so to speak. It felt like the writer had a deadline and she needed to finish it quickly.. so came up with THAT. I've given this two stars because as I said for the most part it was brilliant! The murders were clever, the main character quick witted and the jimmy storyline was interesting.. but if you pick this up wondering if they ever hit it off eventually you'll be disappointed.. we just don't know... Also, how many times can one person use banal or banality in one book?!
I'm half hoping there's another one to follow so the loose ends can be tied and we know if she got what she wanted in the end... The abrupt halt of this has given me whiplash.. we need compensation!
I'm going to start the Thursday murder club series and hope to god I'm not in for another anticlimax...
