This book is yet another thoroughly enjoyable read from one of my favorite authors Isabel Allende. Basically it tells the stories of two individuals and families both struggling with their current living situation largely because of their,past upbringing and childhoods. Easy to follow and well told as usual by a well loved author.

As a retired RN who has worked in both settings of palliative care and ICU both prominently featured in this book I can say that I really appreciated this physicians approach to this topic. Not only is he a current practising physician in these critical care settings and a Canadian he also interviewed many experts with relavent practises and expertise of their own. I really enjoyed this book and hope many others will read it and appreciate and take to heart what he recommends such as preparing advanced directives etc. well done Dr Brigham
