I was hooked from the beginning. Not a fan of the movie. I thought it was badly paced and choppy but the TV show takes the Snowpiercer concept in a new and welcome direction. I've finished the first season and I'm now moving on to season 2.
The characters are well developed and relatable. The plot and action moves quickly but never feels rushed and I love, love, love the world building. The train is a visual delight. The sets remind me of a Guillermo Del Toro movie-rich with detail and depth.
Good solid plot with quirks and surprises that keep you coming back episode after episode. I like that the characters aren't black and white, motivations and alliances shift according to agendas.
One minor quibble-lots and lots of blood. If blood and gore make you uncomfortable, this may not be your jam.
The cast is amazing. Daveed Diggs radiates charisma and "it" factor just as he did in Hamilton. Jennifer Connelly's Melanie is riveting. The supporting players all have a chance to shine and they do not disappoint.
Sean Bean carries off WIlfords charming cruelty so well. It's a treat every time he's on screen. Give Snowpiercer a try.
