A great film. Saw it on big screen. Have left a lasting impression in my mind.

Great film. The content is meaningful even today. Many lower class Indian couples still face similar problems. In 70s, newly married couples of middle class definitely underwent struggling times depicted in the film. The craftsmanship and sensitivity of the theme is very well portrayed. Four star film. I saw the film on big screen in 1972.

My mother always got the toilet cleaned by a low cast toilet cleaner and taught me to do the same. After I saw Gandhi, I started cleaning my toilet way back in 1982. Of course I lost respect in my mother's eye. When father of the nation can do it, why not me? I have not regretted. I've only learned one small but dignified habit.

The 1965 film by Attenborough was a game changer for my life. It gave me a navigation in my life and I still value the content for my existence.
