Barbara Kingsolver is my absolutely favourite author. She can say more in one phrase than others can in a whole book. e.g.
'Here was the rare sort of woman who could recognise an occasion when further words are useless, and still say none.'
'Thatcher felt that something he had had when he walked into the room, was now lost'
And many, many others. This is a book to be read and savoured many times.
