The show won’t last because:
- Cast trying to “out-funny”’each other, and the humor doesn’t hold up
- Not relatable: the show would be funnier if the original story was more about being newcomers to Alaska, and how strange their new lives are there.
- Dialogue is too fast, and unfunny.
- Little blond girl with braces: too negative, confrontational, shouty, mean = not a good formula for funny on a Sunday night.
- The creators of the show hoped the stars/actors would be enough of a draw, but their celebrity overpowers the characters; some of us don’t like the celebrities behind the voices. I don’t care for the Swanson character; he’s a little stale with his schtick. Very eyeroll worthy
- Once the show is moved out of the Sunday lineup, and moved to Wed. or Thurs, that’ll be the death knell for the show.
- I guess it did well with test audiences.
- None of the characters are like-able; they sure are talkative, but it seems the laugh meter is broken. At least on Seinfeld, the writers made non-like-able watch-able.
- Maybe I’ve seen enough funny in my life to know the show blows, sadly
- the advice I would give to the creators and writers...Seth MacFarlane can mostly make that animated family comedy formula work. The “Bob’s Burgers” guys are from the northeast; seems like they don’t know anything about Alaska. Maybe consult with stand-up comedians in Alaska? You know, about things that make Alaska funny instead of this internal constant self-reflection/ a million words per minute muddy jumble.
- fix your timing
- screaming ≠ funny
- just my 2¢
