I enjoyed the film, and early on I saw that it was something of a burlesque... Will Farrell’s Brand
Of humor was visible between the lines (the long shot on the removed heart etc). I liked the voice over narrator and the focus group bringing the view back to reality. It seemed long to me and I was getting bored near the end. Provocative and disturbing.

I was intrigued by the power of that mansion as it symbolized for Danny and Maeve the good years when they were a family. I understood that it was a modern fairy tale a la a Cinderella meets Hansel and Gretal.
I loved it!
I enjoyed the portrait of the narcissist while acting caring was really sucking off the gratefulness of the helpless, to tge expense of her own.
I won’t give away the ending...
But two evil mothers in different guises. Brilliant!
