Certain remakes surpass others in quality, while some ought never to have been attempted. Regrettably, this falls into the latter category. The film is thoroughly disappointing. Despite Jake Gyllenhaal's commendable dedication to physical preparation for his role, his efforts were squandered on this production. The narrative and storyline are woefully lacking. McGregor's performance, at best, elicited discomfort, and I found myself eagerly anticipating his character's demise, if only to bring an end to the film. I am at a loss for any positive commentary regarding this cinematic endeavor, save for Gyllenhaal's winning smile and Daniela Melchior's captivating gaze, which were perhaps the sole reasons I endured until the end..

Spoiler Alert: Loved this as much as the first, and truly hope there's a 3rd installment. My only criticism would most probably be when they all arrive at the port, waiting for the boat to arrive. Before they board the boat, Ethan Hawke (miles assistant) appears from a car and provides everyone with a bracelet, which apparently doubles as a room key, amongst other things. Now, at the time they receive these bracelets, you are unaware the detective wasn't invited to attend the gathering, yet he is given a bracelet that is specific to each individual. How was this possible?

Season 3 Spoiler Alert: I loved this series from beginning to end. The originality was amazing, and the cast was brilliant. My only criticism would have to be why didn't they save their father from being shot with the time key. Although the key only gave them a limited amount of time to go back, they could have returned to the day their father was shot, called the local police department an hour before Sam arrived at the house, and explained a student named Sam had a gun and was threatening to kill Rendall. Unless I have overlooked the rules of the key in question, this could have worked.
