Good movie. It’s decent I’ll admit, some of the jumpscares got me. I personally would recommend if you want a scare or smt. There’s only a few issues. 1: the characters aren’t really that interesting .-. This is something they could fix if they added a bit more lore behind the characters like Eric for example. All we know he was a law student(?) and that his parents live in Kent. That’s pretty much it we know. 2: the plot was to simple and quite predictable. Ah yes, the simple plots. Yes they’re were moments here and there but pretty much predictable. She wants to go get pizza, finds people, attack happens, leaves people, finds person, walks through city, sees pizza shop is blown, repeat until Eric finds a pizza shop or the moment in the glass building. 3: what’s up with the cat? I promise you I’ve never gotten so heated up over a cat. How did it survive? It was under water, nearly got blown apart, had the monsters UNDERNEATH IT, made sounds with bells, ect. And it didn’t DIE-!? My confusion was unlocked- 4: the ending. Like multiple people have said, they could have done better, and I’m gonna admit the ending was fine but they could have done smt else more interesting. 5: they didn’t answer any questions for ANYONE. How do the monsters hear so we’ll? Why do they attack everything that does a sound? Why did they crash on earth? And so on so forth! I kept asking myself those questions and plenty more! But at least it answered how they got here! Okay so my final report. How much does it deserve? I give it a solid 7.5/10 and I’m being generous. I’ve seen bad horror movies, plenty of bad movies. And this one I think they’re judging it to hard. It’s not bad, it’s not good either, it’s decent. You can tell they put work in it, and yes it does hook you from time to time and gives you a scare. But the movie has its memorable moments(such as the running skyscraper thing, the subway moment, the moment between the two when they met, the jazz club place thing(?), the cat surviving, and so on so forth) it’s decently well for a horror film. I’ll definitely see this again if I ever want to when I’m feeling for a scare. So I’m giving it five stars. And I’m being more than generous cause this was getting four stars but since I liked the movie to a degree I’ll give it five. Like I said before I’m giving it a 7.5/10.
