Fighter delivers what we expect from a movie - some drama, action, romance and emotions running high for India(a plus) plus a little comedy and some tragedy thrown in. Basically all the angles are covered. People couldn't help but applaud at many scenes of bravery and us one-upping the enemies. Hrithik has delivered a commendable performance, so has Deepika. Both has their own past demons to deal with which definitely take their characters to a different dimension. However the first half drags a bit. But the second half keeps you glued to the seat.

Total time waste. Full of unnecessary violence. Disrespecting wives as an alpha trait glorified. Characters remain undeveloped and 80% of such a massive screen time is completely dedicated to Ranbir Kapoor. Some of the dialogues by the male and female protagonist are difficult to understand. Certain characters like Shakti Kapoor remain a mystery. Who is he? The entire story has a weird logic. The father is inattentive and physically abusive to his son and his son, instead of disliking him, rebels against the entire world for him. The second half of the movie drags on and on as more characters are introduced. Also , the person who is disgusted by his sister's inability to speak up to her husband expects his wife not to stand up to him. Double standards at the peak. Apparently the formula to success equals violence and sex or sex reference in the mind of Bollywood. The performance of Ranbir Kapoor might have been stellar but what the movie actually needed was a good story.
