Only slightly like the book. Why change the story line to german nazi's rather than the palestinian arabs wanting to transport a bomb to America and detonate during the Superbowl. Loads of intertwined stories not used, what about the 2 submarines, german scientist etc. Very disappointed, Harrison Ford was more commanding as Jack Ryan, in the book he's married to eye surgeon Cathy with 2 children. Let down

Not a bit like the book, which was one I didn't want to put down. Tom Clancy should have done the screenplay, film starts nowhere near the start of the book. Captain Wegener a woman???? I dont think so, lots of bits missing from the book means it doesn't flow, read the book, much more entertaining.
