This book provides some powerful insights into vegetation clearing since European settlement, the ongoing illegal clearing issues, complications of environmental legislation, how environmental staff battle to protect the natural Australian environments for future generations.
As a university lecturer in environmental management, I encourage all uni students to read this book.
As humans, and one species on this country, we are only managers and hopefully never see land as our right to degrade but rather our responsibility to manage and maintain our very special land and animals.
Thanks to Kate for this book, which my son Josh kemp (author) bought for me to read, a tough read at times as I am one of those environment officers who love our special bushland and animals and who for 25 yrs have worked with farmers to help protect the environment and threatened species.
Australia is not Europe, never was or will be.
Australians are learning to appreciate our land, hopefully not too late.
Loved the book Kate, thanks
