Great cast but painfully slow with too large a disconnect between the scenes. A movie/director of this caliber should have known black plastic pocket coms were not around until 1940's. The story is set in 1925, although, I'll give a pass on the latex surgical gloves. There were a couple scenes where I thought the story would start connecting the bread crumb trail, and came close but ran out of time. Not every great work is a story spoon-fed to the audience and I really wanted to love this movie with such a great cast and cinematography. Maybe if I read at the book first and watch it a few more times. At the end of the day I believe it's one of those movies the reviewers give 5 stars or 2, with little in between.
