We just watched this movie on the big screen and I was optimistic that I was about to watch something epic. The first part of the movie delivers but midway, when the characters are fighting against the dinosaurs it went bad fast!
The story was promising and the connection with the younger 2 characters was heart warming. A father sacrificing for his dying daughter and an unexpected young heroine .. what could go wrong?
What went wrong is the horrible special effects!
There are scenes where it was painfully obvious that the actors were in front of a green screen and not a good one either. It almost reminded me of the blurred edges of a person in a Teams meeting where a background is artificially added. It was that bad in some places. I won’t go in to details about all of the bad scenes… I don’t want to rob anyone the pleasure of watching for themselves. <~ yes, sarcasm!
I also expected more from the dinosaurs animatronics . Where was the drool, the the steam from their breath? The animals appeared flat and didn’t present as the huge animals and threats that I think the director wanted to see them portrayed as. I was actually watching the movie with a friend who is all about snakes, reptiles, dragons and dinosaurs and he was really disappointed.
Adam Driver is such a talented actor and it’s a good thing that he never watches or listens to his performances. I think even he would have asked for a refund.
Now, could I have done better? Definitely not! Do I have any credentials that make me a credible reviewer, no again. These are my opinions as a viewer and the person who paid hard earned money for a ticket.
