Bought this book because it was touted as being a Pulitzer Prize winner. Seriously?? Read it to the end, for the same reason. However, If I were diagnosed with a terminal illness, and rereading this book would save my life--I wouldn't!! Have I mentioned the pretentious vocabulary. Yes, he knows some very "big words". Since I am supposed to choose a star rating, I will opt for 1. since there is nothing lower.

Ah, come on! First quarter of the book was somewhat promising but it devolved from there. Too many coincidences, too many really dumb characters. The end was akin to being trapped in a maze. I read this book because my husband read one of hers and absolutely hated it . I had to form my own opinion of her writing. He was right. McFadden is called "a great mystery writer" I my opinion it is a great mystery that she is called a writer.
