I’ve been playing madden for nearly 20 years…this game has a few goods and many bads.
The passing system is decent, graphics are pretty good overall…that’s the goods in gameplay.
I’m by no means a superstar madden player..I play franchise in All pro and usually contend for superbowls even with bad teams..so I’m decent but nothing special..but I understand the game of madden.
The biggest issues in this game I feel..is the interceptions and AI defense, X factors, scouting system and momentum bar.
I know they were trying to make the defenses more realistic but both user and AI players seem to jump and intercept passes as though they knew the play and where the ball was going from the snap. My bears team intercepted 47 passes, 14 for pick 6s in a season with 9 minute quarters..that’s extremely unrealistic..on the flip side..I’ve been intercepted by players that were way behind the receiver or nowhere in the area and boom, picked…it’s also very animation based..and often your receiver doesn’t even make an effort at the ball and let’s the defender pick it..X factors are just overpowered..pro reads is crazy, dots as well..great players don’t need another level of power..they are already great..the scouting is boring and very uninvolved..and I get football has momentum shifts..but in this game it causes players buttons and names to not show or their routes are swiggly..it doesn’t feel like a football game due to practical superpowers and scripted animations.
