Oh boy, this movie. Transformers 4 is creepy and messy. The confusing action and immature jokes are still relevant. BUT THERE IS SOMETHING VERY WRONG WITH THIS MOVIE! It doesn't understand how age of consent works. The law/rule it weirdly explained isn't even used correctly (at least what we hear from the characters forced explanation). The movie had no need to put this in but it did, and it made itself worse. The movie has even more stereotypical characters, some of which even being potentially racist, like Transformers 2. Stanley Tucci was funny I guess... That's really it, this film series spirals out of control after 3.

Finally, something good from the Transformers movie franchise. IT has good understandable fight scenes. Consistent tone. A simple plot and lovable characters. The CGI is great and every robot actually feels like a character. This movie is what's keep me interested with the live action series. Can't wait for Rise Of The Beasts. There are still loads of explosions but their well placed and actually look cool rather than filling the entire screen and then having everyone of the screen previously be dead. Love it to death, I don't understand how this movie got a lower audience rating than Transformers 1. Watch it if you haven't.

Overrated. Fundamentally doesn't make sense. Rushed, filler episodes, flat characters, terrible villain, generic writing, pointless sacrifices, felt like a kids show and to be honest it pretty much is. It's a musical for some reason, no depth, no maturity, some of the worst humour I've ever seen in my life. Didn't even sniffle at a single joke. Also it's really edgy, like sonic.exe levels of edgy and cringe.

Torn between a 3 and a 2 star rating. The movie was typical, predictable, full of minor unimportant errors and worst of all, unnecessary jokes. It's action was surprisingly the best part and the ending sucked. Starts off stronger than it finishes definitely. A lot of these problems stem from the main character and the villain because of their vague relationship only becoming important and significant in the finale. This is unfortunate because we spend the whole movie with her being annoying, blaming herself and sarcastic only to find out why fully at the end.

Whilst this is the best of the Michael Bay live action Transformers movies that doesn't make it good. The film has great CGI and a good threat. The deceptions constantly proving to be powerful worked as it created a high threat level. This was until Bumblebee defeated Barricade and Optimus Prime brutally murdered Bonecrusher. The movie turns childhood heroes into brutal murdering psychopaths. They movie's pacing is messy and you can't enjoy the characters because every ten seconds there's an immature and unfunny joke. "Bumblebee, stop lubricating the man!". The action is messy but enjoyable to an extent. Bumblebee movie was better.

Everything about this movie is either average or worse than what was done before. The villain sucks and has no justifiable motivation, the relationship between the two main characters was hardly developed and was rushed. The entire movie was more childish than all previous entries to the franchise and plays previous hardships off as jokes. Also the movie has Marvel type humour (cheap, obvious and repetitive). And finally the movie doesn't even have the same messaging present in the older movies. For example there is a kung fu staff with magic powers that does the work for the main characters. This is directly contrary to the core themes of the original being that you earn success no matter who you are. Also the Furious Five just aren't even in the movie.

This is movie is definitely a step in the right direction. The fights scenes are well done and not confusing, the enemies are given time to establish themselves, and Optimus Prime has a character ark. (Spoilers Below) The opening scene perfectly establishes the main threat and show's the audience what the consequences are to losing, then through Unicron's and Scourge's dialogue we learn that it is worse than just one planet being eaten. All the Autobot's have personalities to make them memorable whilst those who take centre stage express themselves more to the audience (Optimus Prime, Mirage, Bumblebee). The human characters have both their stories develop whilst the threat looms over the main characters and through this the Autobots are introduced. The humour is used to lighten the mood in between primary events or to establish the current urgency of the situation. Optimus Prime not trusting humans and learning to trust them through Mirage's and Bumblebee's relationships with them worked well and added yet more heart to this movie. The mid credits scene establishes GI-Joe and reveals that mirage lived on. Mirages abilities to transform into whatever he wanted and create holograms were used consistently throughout the movie only increasing in usefulness in order to not overwhelm you. Scourge's death was due to pure rage by Optimus Prime which helped helped the audience feel involved as they witnessed Scourge "Kill" Bumblebee and Mirage. This movie is only beaten by "Bumblebee" and deserved higher ratings from critics who don't like robots.

I don't think I need to justify my rating. This franchise is actually what got me into transformers. I grew up with the movies loving each one. But when I got older I realised just how stupid and unwatchable they were. I later found love for G1, Transformers Prime, Animated and recently the comics. This movie is TOO long, TOO unfunny, TOO confused as to what it actually wants to be. And finally, TOO childish to even take itself seriously at all throughout the entire three hour movie! IT's unwatchable! This movie is exactly what put people of the franchise earlier and is exactly what I found so irritating but condensed into a three hour torture device.
