A promise of epic journey that falls flat.
It started brilliantly. From the get go, you got to face a monstrous Medusa and a joy ride on a Griffin.
The first chapter was quite fun with the Political plot, and I was so excited to see what's coming in the next city and can't wait to see what is waiting for me on the bigger world.
But nope, it falls flat pretty much after you left the first city Vermund.
Most quest (side quest) were fetch quest.
Sure there is some fun in how organic everything plays out (quests and encounters), but the lack of variaty of monster bore you to death. (you gotta fight a lot of goblins, lizzard like creatures, bandits and skeletons. A LOT of them).
I would say the variety and core mechanic of this game is exploration and playing/levelling up different classes as the play style do feels different and that's pretty much it.
For me, customising your characters is not fun, because you need to buy different armors/weapons for pretty much every classes.
And there is simply not enough "gold" to customise your character that much.
I ended up getting a moderate weapon and armour and upgrade it once/twice and stick with them til the end of the game.
Pawns are cool and I enjoy having them on battles.
But nothing memorable on top of that.
Final Act was really flat and does nothing for me.
I won't even go to new game plus because I feel that I've explored much of the game (I've explored 95% of the world map and maxed all the vocations).
It's an ok ride and I did have some fun with it.
It's just not an epic adventure that I expect would get.
*Coming from someone who has just platinum'd the game.
